"A smorgasbord of culture and experience." Tokyo by worldkiwi

Tokyo is the city in Japan to head to if you haven't got time to explore the country further. One could spend a week in Tokyo and fill every day with new and varied experiences. I was really surprised by what Tokyo was, expecting a huge sprawling urban jungle. Instead, I found neighbourhoods with distinct feels and a multitude of sights or varying nature: from green Yoyogi park, to neon Akihabara. Tokyo's train network can be a bit confusing (especially the subways), but after a couple of days you get on top of it and travelling by train becomes a fun experience in itself. I would definitely return to Tokyo and recommend the city to anyone wishing to experience Japan in one small place!

• Pros:So much to see and do!
• Cons:A mix of exclusive fare systems on subways is a pain.
• In a nutshell:Tokyo has it all!
