Ok - it's expensive for the average backpacker, but you've got to go there once while in Nuku'alofa. The food is absolutely delicious. The courgettes cooked in olive oil were simply divine!

Favorite Dish: The Salmon Steak -with vegetables.

Restaurant Name: Langilangi's Guesthouse.

There is only one restaurant in all of Ha'apai and that is Mariners Cafe in Pangai, but most of the guesthouses will prepare a real Tongan dinner if you advise them early enough. So go in the afternoon and arrange a dinner for later at night.
This place is known as Fonongava'inga Guesthouse in the Lonley Planet, and the food is amazing. Go with an appetitie and you won't be disappointed. Mrs Langilangi is a gem.

Favorite Dish: The fish cooked in coconut cream and cheese sauce... oh my god - simply delicious!
(the Taro chips weren't bad either)
