    • The Mahakam River, Kalimantan.
    In 1995, I was lucky enough to be part of a houseboat tour up the Mahakam River in Kalimantan, Borneo. The houseboat took us from Samarinda to Tanjungisui beside the glassy Lake Jempang. We also visited a Dayak village in the rainforest.

    • In 1989, I visited the Presedential Palce in Jakarta with my high school class. We had afternoon tea with President Suharto! The occasion will be one I always remember. I guess not many 17 year old westerners could say they had afternoon tea with the President of Indonesia!
