At the end of my 2008 business trip to Asia, I had four day's holiday in Siem Reap. For many years I had wanted to visit Cambodia, and in particular the temple-city ruins of Angkor, near Siem Reap. So with only four days to spare, rather than try and rush around Cambodia, I decided to fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap and base myself there for the time, and explore Angkor over three days.
