Florence is a well preserved mediaeval city in the north of Italy. It boasts an impressive variety of sights including the Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo's "David", the Vecchio Palace, Vecchio Bridge, and of course it's beautiful Duomo.
I got stuck here for a few days more than I had planned during my Mediterranean meander in 2001.
