Hoi An, in central Vietnam, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town was an important trading port into the 19th century and many buildings survive from that time. In fact, wandering the trafficless streets in the old town can bring on feelings of having travelled back in time. The streets ooze charm and this was one of my favourite stops on my way north to the capital. To add to the appeal of Hoi An there is a range of excellent restaurants and cafes.
