A city on the move.

by worldkiwi - last update: Apr 29, 2005

Ho Chi Minh City is a bustling place where the traffic can make you dizzy and the architectural heritage can surprise you. It is a city that is clearly developing into a major commercial centre in a very fast way!
The locals are really friendly and seem to be warmly open to foreigners. The city is easy to get around and contains some impressively restored colonial buildings. It's great to see a city retaining buildings from the past and using them for the present. If only western cities did the same!

Pros:"Beautiful heritage buildings, easy to get around, friendly people."
Cons:"Rubbish and pollution are big problems for this growing city."
In A Nutshell:"A great place to dive into Vietnam."

Very helpful info here on this interesting sounding city! Doing your own BBQ in a restaurant sounds like a very different, but fun way to go!

Oh my god I just remembered my awful meal at the airport due to extreme hunger - cold chips and a stale sandwich for about $8!!!
