Asia's best beaches?

Does Phuket have the best beaches in Asia? Well, scenes like this one (Kata Noi) make me think it might have.
My first trip to Phuket was at the end of 2001 and unfortunately I was at the bottom of the recovery curve after a bout of food poisoning in Phi Phi. I visited Karon, Patong, and Kata then as well as Kamala, based in Phuket town, where I was recovering. I took very few photos then, so when I had a brief holiday there in 2004, I made up for it a bit!
I didn't want to leave in 2004 after an all too short 3 day vacation!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Graet place to relax, get a tan, eat some nice food, and read a book!
Cons:Tourism has taken away a lot of authentic qualities, but you don't go to Phuket for culture!

A cool destination, Glenn. Nice sandy beach and well written explaination! About my poems at Bali page ... well, if I witnessing something beautiful and gorgeous ... suddenly 'words' comes out of my mind and I just need to write it using pencil :)
