On March 17th, 2001 my lovely wife and I went to "the little apple" to see their St. Patrick's Day parade and have some fun. Pictures of the parade and festivities will be in the travelogues. Manhattan was a town founded by error. Settlers were on a paddle wheel steamer heading up the Kansas river to the area where Junction City is now. The river was low so their steamer could not make it all the way up river. The current site of Manhattan is as far as they got so they settled there. I hope you will enjoy this tour of the city founded by accident. |
