Humboldt is a small town about a mile from highway 169 in eastern Kansas. Humboldt was founded by immigrants of German descent in 1857. The town was named for Baron Von Humboldt. Just a few years after the town was started it was invaded and burned twice during the Civil War. A lot of other small towns might not have survived but the citizens of Humboldt were stubborn and they rebuilt the town.
This band stand is in a park in the center of town. The park is a good starting point for a visit to Humboldt. Here in the park is a mural about the 12 historic Civil War markers in town. The Newspaper office is opposite one corner of the park. Local business are around the park also.

Of anything that takes place in Humboldt, the most noteworthy event is the annual Biblesta parade held on the first saturday of October.
