Spanish Conquistadors heard a legend of a golden man and came to this area looking for "El Hombre Dorado". Later this was shortened to El Dorado. The first settlers who saw this area arrived at dusk when the setting sun made every thing look golden. One of the settlers proclaimed it El Dorado. Not long ago there was a movie called "ELDORADO". Hollywood people came here to paint the main street gold as a movie advertisement. You won't find any gold here but you will find an interesting community rich in culture.
