My favorite meal was at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. On Monday nights they have a buffet with all manner of traditional Sri Lankan foods. It is a great way to try a lot of different things. If you stay the night the breakfast buffet the next morning is almost as good. I got complimentary breakfast with my room and it was quite good.
There were even traditional Kandyan dancers performing for us as we ate on the Governor's Terrace. It is a way to experience the food and the culture both at the same time.
Favorite Dish: Hoppers were some thing I had never had before and I enjoyed them. On the buffet the next morning I also got to have string hoppers as well.
