Fishing Pier at Lake Cuyamaca
Fishing is allowed on Lake Cuyamaca with a valid permit, $6.00 for adults and $3.50 for children. A State Fishing License for anyone 16 years and older is about $12.00 for one day of fishing and about $37.00 for an annual license. These are always required for fishing and can be purchased at the Bait and Tackle shop.
Update:
The price may be changed by time of your visit so check the website before going.
The Pier is a great place to fish from, probably better than from the shore line. However, fishing from boats is also allowed.
This is a popular fishing spot for locals and if you'd like to try your hand at it but haven't ever fished, they offer Free Fishing Classes every Saturday morning 10:00 am, at the boat launching ramp.
This is a family friendly place and so much fun for everyone!

Boats on Lake Cuyamaca
Lake Cuyamaca is smaller now than when I was younger and went boating with my dad, but it is still big enough to enjoy rowing or riding in a motor boat. This is not a big "tourist" area, but is usually pretty busy on weekends during warmer days.
You can also fish from the boats if you have purchased a permit.%c
Equipment: There is a boat ramp if you bring your own boat, but call before taking your boat up there as this ramp is sometimes closed due to environmental conditions.
Fear not, you can also rent one of theirs at a reasonable price. Motor boats are a bit more expensive to rent than a row boat, but worth it if rowing isn't your thing.
