Otay Mesa Border Crossing

Welcome to my Otay page,

Otay, more commonly referred to as Otay Mesa, is a neighborhood of San Diego City located at the southeastern section of South San Diego, Otay comprises of two areas. The West end is basically residential in nature and fairly well developed. The East end is just now being developed as an Industrial area, especially catering to the activity of business exchanged between the USA and Mexico

The main reason you'd come to this area, unless to do business, would be to cross the border to or from Tijuana, Mexico, because this border is very near the Tijuana Airport and the wait times crossing here for anyone in a personal vehicle are most often not nearly as long as those at San Ysidro crossing.

It is not a tourist haven and you will be amazed at the number of huge trucks that seem to rule the road around here. The best thing about these trucks is that they have their own crossing point and do not clog the lanes for those in private vehicles when crossing at this port of entry.

Two very important points of information here. More people should know about this before venturing off into Mexico. Good job!
