  • Nightlife Spot: PICK A LOCAL FAVORITE!

There are various restaurants and bars where adults can enjoy themselves in the evening, but this is not a big party town.

The beach is a fun place to be on warm summer evenings.
    Fun for all ages.

Dress Code: Casual in most places but at some, you might want to dress up.

An evening at the beach however, almost anything you'd like to wear. (A note to those used to European beaches, women MUST wear a top.) Keep in mind that the life guard is not on duty at night.

  • Nightlife Spot: Play Night Tennis

As you can see from the picture, there are big lights over the tennis court for those who would like to play a game in the evening. Anyone not versed in the game of tennis can arrange lessons with an instructor.

  • Nightlife Spot: Cays Lounge

The Coronado Cays is a posh residential area on the penisula south of downtown Coronado. Each home has a boat slip and there is a marina alongside of Lowes. The Cays Lounge at Lowes overlooks the dock of the marina and offers a view of some lovely homes at the Cays.

Entertainment is offered on weekends but this is also a nice place to stop for an intimate evening during the week.

  • Nightlife Spot: Babcock & Story Bar

Mr. Babcock and Mr. Story were two of the original founders of the resort city of Coronado in the mid-1800's.

Babcock & Story is a great open bar and lounge area of the Hotel Del--there is also outside seating. The prices are steep for a drink, but worth the splurge to lounge in the ambience of the Hotel Del.

Dress Code: My advise is to dress your best while visiting here.

Of course, as with most San Diego area vacation spots the employees at the Hotel Del will be as polite and helpful to you whether you are in designer resort wear or Wal-Mart sweats. Dress as you like.

You've done a great job on this page. I should have spent time here instead of just driving thru. I could spend hours and hours between the hotel's architecture and all those antique shops and cafes. Wonderful presentation.
