The Reception. In a Muslim wedding there is nothing like our big church ceremonies. It is rather, a matter of the men from each side, groom's and bride's, signing papers with the help of the mosque's Imam and the deed is done. The bride is not normally even present at the time.

However, it is usually the case that the nicest reception that the family can afford is given to present the Bride and Groom to friends, family and buisness acquaintences.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to a traditional Javanese wedding reception. The father of the bride was a Minister of the government and the reception was the grandest event I've ever attended.
