Welcome to my Paris page,
If you have experienced the majesty of Paris already, there is nothing more I can tell you.
However, if you are contemplating your first trip, I can tell you plenty--but not enough to prepare you for the awesome, personal experience that is Paris!! Each of us who love Paris may have very different reasons for doing so and it is no mystery why that is. In Paris you will find something to attract every personality type!
History, romance and style, can be found throughout the city of Paris. Avoid being overwhelmed, have a plan of what to do and see before you arrive.
The City is divided into 20 districts, "Arrondissements," beginning at the center and circling out in the shape of a snail. It is easy to compartmentalize your sight seeing by working your way through each district. The Metro system is efficient and the easiest way to get around the city. Walking around will bring you up close and personal with the offerings of this generous city.
I hope you enjoy your visit,
Linda
A ride down the Siene is a wonderful way to see some of the most famous sites of Paris.
I expected to see the Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges crossing the River. What I did not expect to see was the Statue of Liberty looming before me!
Every visit to Paris offered such delightful surprises. Some spectacular and some subtle, but all served to enrich my experience of this extraordinary city. You may not be impressed with the same type of things that impress me, but I am confident that you will be impressed with the offerings of Paris.
I had several offers for a glimpse of "behind-the-scenes" areas and enjoyed a view of Paris not on the tourist route. If the opportunity presents itself to you, jump at the chance, you won't be disappointed.
Did you know that in the middle of those massive blocks of architecturally distinctive buildings, an outdoor garden or sometimes two are crafted? This balcony surrounds the inside square of the building and the views are priceless.
- Pros:Paris Exists
- Cons:I live too far from Paris
- In a nutshell:Paris Offers Too Much To Tell About!!

Hi Linda- I enjoyed looking at your Paris tips. I saw the statue of liberty from the train to Versailles in passing. It must have been quite special to stay with friends and experience the city that way instead of the constant rush of being a tourist. Ill be in paris again this year, very much looking forward to it
Hi Linda, I see you have just been updating all your Paris tips. They look very good now that you have got them all re-formatted. Great that you could stay with friends in Paris back in 1999 and get some behind-the-scenes looks at their daily lives.
Indeed great page on our lovely Paris, and great writing too, you can be a food critic here lol!!!
Hi Linda
How nice to read such a personal page about your relationship with Paris: too maany people end up sounding as though they're just regurgitating passages from a guidebook!
That raclette sounds delicious!
Regards
Cathy
I can’t believe it’s been over five years since I last looked at your Paris tips. I agree that “looking for something” is a great way to make unexpected discoveries, even if you don’t find the thing you were actually looking for.
Don't know if I've mentioned; we're going back to Paris in April, so I've bookmarked a lot of yr restaurant tips--gracias!
Ah Paris, someday I will visit this wonderful magical city of lights! I am glad you've had the opportunity to visit. You have a wonderful page with lots of good tips. Keep them coming!
Paris, I am sorry other countries, is really the capital of Europe! :) They really deserve this title!;)
Ah yes, your Paris page brought back some marvellous memories, Linda. Like you, I could only dream of staying at the Hotel Crillon!
An interesting page, reminded me this beautiful city - the capital of European culture and history. Great info, thanks for sharing, Linda! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year coming in several hours. I wish you Linda many trips next year-real and virtual!
