Above is a photo of one of my favorite sites in Rome, the <font color=green><b>BOCCA DELLA VERITA</font></b> (<b>"The Mouth of Truth"</b>)-- an ancient stone disc representing a fluvial divinity. Medieval Romans would swear oaths and finalize business deals here since, according to popular belief, the mouth would bite off the hands of liars. The mouth can be found in the portico of the medieval church <b>Santa Maria in Cosmedin</b>.
Each time I visit Rome, I come away with a greater appreciation for its "ambience"... Despite the hectic nature of our modern world, people are still taking time to enjoy life's simply pleasures -- food, drink, conversation and, of course, romance! :)
Most of the places I have described so far on this page are well-known attractions, but the amazing thing about Rome -- or should I say, one of the many amazing things! -- is that nearly everywhere you go, you can find something beautiful and aesthetic to admire...
Hmmm... Perhaps Rome is bringing out the genes of my Italian grandmother ??
