entertaining the cruisers
The people of the Society Islands are very colorful and happy....enjoying a more relaxed, slower pace of life. And what a beautiful place to live.
Our guide (wearing the straw skirt) and her assistants were entertaining a group of us "cruisers" on the island of Taha'a.
In September of 1999, we embarked on a 7 day Society Island cruise on Radisson's "Paul Gaughin." The itinerary included spending the day in Papeete, Tahiti, then boarding the ship and sailing to Raiatea, Taha'a, Bora Bora (2 days), Moorea (2 days), back to Tahiti again for another day touring the island.

Pros:"Beautiful & tropical, some of the most gorgeous water I've seen"
Cons:"Smoke from burning trash, overpopulation of dogs, environmental problems"

Hi Ann, The weather might finally be breaking around here. I just had to visit someplace warm and prove to myself that the temp really does get over 35 eventually! Thanks for the tour. Great photos...Tom

You have some great photos of your fabulous cruise vacation! And I would choose bicycles over motorbikes too. I hope you enjoy Jasper.
