Santa Barbara is a beautiful city located on the coast of southern California just 1 1/2 hours drive north of Los Angeles. The landscape is varied with ocean, beaches, valleys, foothills, and mountains. Most buildings remain loyal to the Spanish architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries, and I was impressed by the numerous gardens and flowers.
Mission Santa Barbara is shown above. There is a lovely park and rose garden across the street.
