Since my husband and I don't have any relatives in California (closest across the country) we decided to take advantage of the long weekend and "see" something new. Not that we haven't been to Palm Springs before, but previously (before VT) it was to play golf and chill out.
Palm Springs is located in the the upper Colorado Desert and boasts having 350 days of sunshine. It is a resort city known for it's warm climate, numerous golf courses (over 90) mineral springs and fabulous shopping. The area has attracted celebrities, many of which have homes here and retirees but is a great destination for every age & budget. There are 8 desert resort cities, each with it's own personality, but many refer to the whole area as "Palm Springs". |

Redlats Tue Nov 13, 2007 22:26 UTC It sounds like the tram to the top of Mt. St. Jacinto was quite the adventure. I wonder how one would find out how much snow there was at the top the day you want to go? | icunme Sat Oct 14, 2006 00:57 UTC Enjoyed your photos and detail. We'll be back here for Thanksgiving and hoping to find great new restaurants! | doreenellen Sun Oct 9, 2005 16:13 UTC Enjoyable page with good info and photos.
