Verona is the 2nd largest city in the Veneto region and one of the most prosperous in Northern Italy. It's ancient area has many magnificent ruins including the Roman Arena which was completed in 30 A.D. Another area of interest is the colorful market place of Piazza Erbe, named after the city's old herb market. But, Verona is probably best known for Juliet's balcony from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
