Getting TO/AROUND: ON FOOT - What a great way to see Paris, since it is such a walkable city (weather permitting). Pick up a street map from your hotel, or buy a laminated one from Rand-McNally. DOUBLE-DECKER TOUR BUSES - One or 2 day passes are available on open top double-decker buses (L'Open Tour). The open top deck provides great views of the city. Ear phones are included with a narrative in French & English on the major sites you pass by. Gives you the flexibility of hopping on and off to see the major attractions. Buses run about every 5 to 20 minutes. Three different routes and about 40 stops including major train stations. Buy your ticket right on the bus. METRO - Cheap, easy way to get around. Subway within the city. RER - Paris suburban trains.
