MONTMARTRE - Many famous artists of the 19th & 20th century lived and worked here including Gericault and Corot. There is a Salvador Dali museum. Today the area is bustling with street artists. You will get hounded by them nevertheless, it is definitely worth seeing. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants.

Our small group enjoyed a drink along the Seine across from Notre-Dame. At various points along the river there are docked boats converted into restuarants and or bars. It's a very relaxing way to enjoy the evening after a long day of touring. Shown are husband Bob (left), Uncle Jerry and Aunt Marcelle.

POMPIDOU CENTER Paris' museum of modern art. I don't know what it more interesting...the building itself (which appears to be inside out) or the art contained inside. It was designed so that the escalators, elevators, ductwork and steel struts are all on the outside. Some of the art inside is from Picasso, Miro, Pollack & Matisse and some other WAY OUT stuff! Besides the museum there is a major public library, musical research institute and temporary exhibitions.
