I was trying to put my cupboard in order, after a long time, when I found these tickets.
Not so easy to tell you the story, it was what I call “a life ago” and memories were kept well hidden…
Time to face them and “the past”.
Well, the tickets are from my last trip to Greece and Turkey. It was the second time that I started a trip just with a one-way-ticket, from Italy to a Greek Island. It’s so exciting to leave without a return-ticket…
The first time I went from Italy to Rhodes, then travelled from island to island in the north-eastern Aegean sea, and from Kos to Bodrum in Turkey. The wonderful Turkish tour ended in Istanbul, were we got our return ticket, via Munich.
Second time, from Italy to Skyathos, from island to island reached Alexandroupolis in Greece and to Istambul by train; again for the return ticket to Italy, via Geneve.
We left Samothrace in the evening; arrived in Alexandroupolis early in the morning, no train to Turkey until night … and no train tickets until few minutes before the train left. The long trip to Istanbul was absolutely great; the train was full of young backpackers and, and …we were the oldest (actually, not me the oldest). But we have such a great fun with those people… and with policemen at the border. At that time they had a strange way to register people entering Turkey. In the customs office there was a big blackboard and they were writing name, surname and details using a chalk. But there were also some computers used for the same registration. So your name was displayed both on the blackboard and on the monitor.
Back to the Greek Islands. I visited some of them (I’ve been there also with round tickets) but I’ve photos just from my last trip and I’m not sure to remember all the place I visited (was such a hard job to forget everything…).
I’ll try to do my best to tell and show you how wonderful are some islands.

I like the idea not having a return ticket. :-) btw you still look elegant with your legg winded. lol.

When I went to Greece I should have returned 2weeks later but I stayed there for another 4 weeks because it was so beautiful, wish I could do that now!
