Photo: His Majesty, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. By the courtesy and kindness High Commisioner Brunei to Malaysia.
Received an urgent call from old friend in Singapore, ask a favour to assist his team in Seria, Brunei Darussalam. According to him, the problem is critical to commisioning and handover the project to * Mannesman* ( Austrian Company ) the main contractor to * Brunei Shell*. Can't effort to refuse the requestation....because Old Buddy in the college day.
The first day arrival at Brunei airport, something is attract my view. The picture of His Majesty together with his two Queens standing together by left and right. Fantastic, I had been in Saudi Arabia...( sorry) The King is not dare to be pictured accompenied by more than solo Queen. After all what to worried, ISLAM permitted to married FOUR ....yes four...how nice to become a leader and given guidence and protection to four women. To Ms Jane Fonda do not scold me....we do this because pitty to the Ladies, no body care her / they...always sleep a lone ( I don't want sleep a lone ~ song by Great KAMAL Khan ) lol.
Brunei Darussalam is a Malay Muslim monarchy, the 29th monarch in succession to the throne. The Sultan is also the Prime Minister heading a team of cabinet ministers. His Majesty is the Defence and Finance Minister.Back to the History, the early king of Brunei was called Sang Aji (Reverend Monarch ) a title of Sanskrit origin. Sung dynasty annals mentioned " Puni" a state about 45 days sail from Java. Marco Polo, the Great Venetian traveller ( just like Great KAMAL Khan ), mentioned in 1282 the junk trade between China and Brunei. Further info, by mid 14th century the whole Island of Borneo ( Malaysia's Sabah & Sarawak ) was known as Brunei. |
