We fly from Kuala lumpur to Jakarta on 17 Nov 1995.Stop over at Jakarta one week,then fly to Padang . Our objective Bukit Tinggi.It's took two hours journey from Padang Airport to reach BUKIT TINGGI. Nice place to visit and nice people too.

They are skilled traders,easygoing,peaceful,selfconfident - the only ethnic group that can compete successfully with Chinese in Jakarta. Well known for it's find hand embroidered and silver work.They are interior,not a coastal people.Their ethnic called MINANGKABAU. Fervent Muslims,they are one of the best educated and most vigorous peoples in the country ( Indonesia ). Many of nation's intellectual,leader and authors by Minangkabau.

Minangkabau mean Menang Kerbau or "Win Bufflo". In their society,all the children bear the CLAN name of their MOTHER. This ethnic group is famous for it's matrilineal and matrilocal social system.The climate cool and sunny (like a Cameron Highland & Genting Highland in alaysia ).Avoid travel in Monsun Season.
