Went to Morocco for a weekend trip while studying in Sevilla, Spain. We started off in Cueta, which is a Spainish protectorate and sat on the bus while our passports were processed. Wound up in Tetuan which was really cool. They have a great market that is full of bargains if you don't mind haggling with the sometimes annoying vendors. Try taking their pictures... they love it! Seriously, they have some really cool stuff at good prices.
Definately go to Chefchauchen if you have the chance( hope I spelled it right). It's a really cool village set in the Rif Mountain range. Just don't give any money to the beggar children as it encourages them to miss school. And don't buy drugs(hashish) from the people selling it, unless you feel like spending time in a Moroccan prison. These dirtbags are in cahoots with the police and will turn you in.
Finally, go and catch a show at one of the Casbahs if you can. The music is really cool and the performances are something that you have to see to believe! The guy walking across broken glass stole the show!
Have fun!
