Welcome! Hi Everyone from eveywhere!! Hope you enjoy having a look through my homepage. I'm sorry that there are some areas that lack information, but I'm going to try and fix that. For now I'll try and upload some pics and put down some brief information. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email. I haven't visited this page in some time and it's time to dust off the cobwebs and spiffy it up a bit.
I'd like to thank all of those folks that I met and had the pleasure to know during all of my travels! I can't remember most of your names, but the memories of hanging out with all of you is something I will never forget. I thank you all for your insights, advise, laughter and drinks. The cultural exchanges we shared are priceless treasures which I will always keep close to my heart. May our paths cross again sometime in the future. Cheers! |
Must visit Cuenca A nice view of this old Spanish city, located midway between Madrid and Valencia. Set atop a hill and surrounded by 2 rivers, this is a great place to visit if you like to hike or mountain climb. Plenty of narrow streets and some great food, specialties are roasted wild boar and deer stew. Yuo have to check this out |
| Dingle Peninsula, Ireland |
Ireland - the Emerald Isle Visit the Dingle Peninsula when you go to Ireland. It's some of the most spectacular scenery there is to see! Lots of beautiful winding roads, small villages and friendly people. Watch where you park your car though...we watched a tourist bus swipe the side of a car and trash it! And I'm sure he didn't bother to report it either. |
| Douro River, O'Porto, Portugal |
O'Porto, Portugal Definately go to O'Porto, Portugal if you have the chance. It's a really cool city set upon a maze of hilltops along the Douro river. This is where the world famous Port wine comes from, and there are several wineries to visit and sample the goods on the western side of the river. The boats in the foreground are replicas of the ones used to ship the port in the old days. Some really good seafood dishes are to be had as well. |
Israel Caeseria, Israel - An old Roman fortification along the Mediterranean Coast, this is a must-see for those going to the Middle East. One of Herod's positive achievements in this country was to build this ancient port city. The ruins are still pretty monumental and show not much signs of wear. |
| The Treasury, Petra, Jordan |
Petra, Jordan I took a trip to this amazing place called Petra while I was in Eilat, Israel. There are guided/armed tour buses that depart from Eilat and switch the same at the Jordanian border. This is where the third installment of 'Indiana Jones' was filmed. It is such an amazing place - an entire city carved out of the multi-layed, multi-colored sandstone that forms this huge valley. I took a day trip which included an all-you-can-eat buffet. I'd suggest a 2 day visit at least. This way you can see more of this ancient wonder. |
| Shadow of El Jaguar pyramid. Tikal, Guatemala |
Tikal, Guatemala I went to Guatemala with my folks in the winter of 1999. My father had done some 'Doctors w/o Borders' work down there and convinced me to go with them to see for myself the beauty of this country. I wasn't disappointed! The Guatemalans are some of the nicest people you could ever meet and the scenery is awesome! We went to some remote villages as well as major cities and everyone/everything was really cool. I flew to Tikal to see the ruins and, unfortunately for me, I left the extra rolls of film on the bus. Luckily I had about 20 shots to take and used them sparingly. |
World Trade Center, USA My friend Ruth from Spain came for a visit some years back. One of the places she wanted to visit was the World Trade Center in NYC. We went to Liberty State Park for a preview of Manhattan, then took the subway out there for a look. I had to attend to business while Ruth went sight-seeing. She went to the towers and went upstairs for a look. I'll never forget how excited she was when we met up later on in the day. She couldn't believe how tall they were, and the view from up there was amazing. Needless to say, it can only be a memory now and not something to be experienced again in this lifetime. |
