    • This is fun and the water taxis are actually a pretty good way to get to certain places. It's cheap, too, and a chance to intermingle w/ locals.

    • I recommend going to temples till you drop (something I wish I'd seen more of). This one is pretty famous and quite lovely. It home to the famed reclining Buddha.

    • The reclining Buddha at Wat Po is, I believe, the largest reclining Buddha around. You don't truely appreciate this until you're in there and it's just sooo big. Seeing the reclining Buddha and the Thai faithful surrounding it was a spiritual experience for me.

    • The main thing you see w/in the Grand Palace complex is Wat Phra Kaew. This is an amazing temple that I spent a long time and a lot of film in. Thai temples are so ornate. Lots of gold and shiney stuff :) It is truely truely incredible.

    • This is pretty en vogue right now. I only took one class but it was cool. It was with the Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School, which is really well established, and which I recommend. They have five classes in continuous rotation and you can take any number of them...just one or all five. If you are a vegetarian, like myself, you can sub tofu for meat in all the dishes. And I can't even begin to tell you how good the food is :)

    • This is a huge, if largely touristy market. It's good fun, though, and you can get decent prices if you bargain hard.

    • This is the biggest market I have ever been too in my life. It is so HUGE!! I truely believe you can get anything there. That is, of course, if you have the wherewithal to find what you're looking for because it's sooo huge. It is an incredible sensory experience. It is also an endurance test, as it requires lots of walking with very little available room, very little air, and extreme heat.
