"at home in the world" kumalavula's Profile

i spent 6 months living and teaching in northern india in 2005 and have returned three times since, traveling to different regions on each trip.

though not the easiest place on the wallet, japan will entrance you with its culture, history and artistically crafted food. the temples, the reverence for religion and tranquility, and the attention to detail in almost every aspect of life there is truly astonishing.

a food lovers' paradise!
it helps that i have friends that live there but you'll never leave hungry, even if you're only there for a short time.

this country offers so much, from east to west, north to south!
the ethnic and gastronomic differences are astounding to the senses.

it's all people say it is....and more.
the people are so friendly, the food is so amazing and the temples are exquisite.
the landscapes are heartbreakingly beautiful.

puerto rico

san juan is an interesting mix of old and new.
it's got its own feel, compared to the other spanish speaking places in the caribbean-the dominican republic and cuba- but it's still a nice place to hang out in for a few days.

my life has been a continuous quest for experiences in cultures other than my own. what you see here are some of the places i have lived and traveled; by far, not all.
