I was with a group of colleagues in a rushing business trip, but had the chance of a free evening to visit downtown. And it was a great time for that, since the big Christmas Market was there (up to December 22) in the old center (Altstadt), right after the huge skyscrapers and close ot the very nice Old Theatre.

We found a very crowded area around the biggest Christmas tree in Germany (as they claim), bought some typical heart shaped big cookies (one for our boss is asking for a rise...), visited many artisans shops (original and more or less useful presents everywhere) and enjoyed the cute wooden decorations they use to prepare and sell for Christmas, found a very beautiful and old 'carosel' where my friends had a tour despite (because?) of their age, and joined the people drinking 'gluhwein' (aromatic hot wine) in the cold evening.

We had a nice time, hope to come back to visit more and get some pics. My special thank goes to <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/tabatha">Hanna</a> and <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/drolkar"> Chaterine</a> for their nice suggestions.

PS: Additional tips have been added from a second trip, particulalry useful if you are going to the Hoechst Industry-park.
