| | News: relocated to Rome AND quit old job... Note: I am back on mentioning the 'porloschicos' site of Argentina with the purpose of helping a bit everyday. Do it you too, if you like and care. Thanks. *************** Like most of you, I enjoy meeting people from this stupid world, learn some from their language, drink their drinks, let them introduce me to their real cultures and lifestyles. I have been lucky to live and work in few places like Lake Charles (LA), Shanghai, Antwerp and any time I loved it. Still looking for a place to stay and find whatever I am looking for (I wish I know). Send ideas. About me and VT, I was lucky to find it by chance. I enjoy it as a great site for people to share memories and much more. There are countless interesting experiences to read and learn about, plus I love great pics. As this can be just a virtual window to our ego or a place to meet those persons we'd like to have next door, I found here very special people. And it is special to have chances to meet them for real! We are more and more having such pleasure by micro or maxi meetings like we just did in Verona. And I thanx you all for such good memories! That is all for now, I'll see you around... of course. If you need any info you think I can help with, just drop me a line. And if you wonder about my nick, I am indeed 'a Roman', and I am glad I am coming back home after 16 years of wandering around... Ciao. PS: Pictures and notes on pages are taken or written by me, unless otherwise specified (and maps or similars). (Updated May 20th - Feel free to write) |
Pages and lazyness... I mainly made a memo list of the places I have been for business and leisure, and I am starting to add some old pics. I am afraid I will not be that good in tips and long detailed pages, but I would like to share some pics I loved and give you a flash about the feelings they recall me. And I am also trying to fight my lazyness in writing while getting back on my trips experiences. As a start I added a little story about Bogota' to remind me that any trip might be associated with such feelings to make it special in our memories. | | |
| | What you can find? First, a little tribute to Lake Charles, mainly known it for its gambling facilities while I enjoyed it for much more than that. While there, it is too easy to head to New Orleans and ebjoy. Also my gullible friend on travellogue is from the the Big Easy, hope you will have a chance to enjoy him and all his friends from all over the world in my travellogues. Then, I got one trip idea and diving info for you on my Thailand page, plus some Bangkok 'monkeys' feelings. I put also a couple of pics on Brazil and Rio, where I went to a conference and then took a week off at a very nice posada on a beach in Buzios. Finally, I am adding tips here and there, like from Barcelona and few German places. Hope you can find them useful. |
Reasons for a war Mr. Ramsey Clark, former secretary under the Carter administration, gave an interesting reading for the reasons behind the last and probably future wars. He also confirmed me that public opinion in USA is more complex and articulated than what we might tend to believe. For complete English version of his open letter to UN: 'Do not support attack on Iraq' just follow the link. PS: The direct IA Center link does not work anymore, I found a different one. On internet you can find links to several other translations. Just look for letter from Ramsey Clark to Kofi Annan dated 20 September 2002. | | | Peace flags, from our balconies. |

A nice thought about life, read somewhere... "Imposible atravesar la vida sin que un trabajo salga mal hecho, sin que una amistad cause decepción, sin padecer algún quebranto de salud, sin que un amor nos abandone, sin que nadie de la familia fallezca, sin equivocarse en un negocio. Ese es el costo de vivir. Sin embargo lo importante no es lo que suceda, sino, cómo se reacciona. Si te pones a coleccionar heridas eternamente sangrantes, vivirás como un pájaro herido incapaz de volver a volar."
More or less... "It is impossible to pass thru life without that a job comes out wrongly done, without that a friendship disappoint you, without suffering form a pain on health, without a love that abadon us, without something failed in the family, without a misanderstand in a business. This is the price for living. However, it is not important what will happen, but the way we react. If you start collecting wounds bleeding for ever, you will live as a wounded bird that is not capable to get back to fly." |
