During our visit to Vienna, we took the opportunity to take a day trip via train to Salzburg. A beautiful city that we wish we could've spent more time in. The Salz River winds its way through Salzburg dividing the city. As you can see the weather wasn't very cooperative. For Mozart fans, Salzburg is Mecca, even though the city wasn't kindly to him while he lived there, they have certainly made up for it!! Mozart memorobelia is everywhere. An absolute must is to taste the "Mozart Balls", a chocolate candy that is delicious and is found in almost every store in Salzburg (Vienna as well). I dare you to eat just one! We look forward to returning to Vienna and Salzburg May-June 2003, and will definately spend at least a couple of days in Salzburg and the surrounding area. |
