  Hello, All is well, I survived the mandatory Casablanca pubcrawl, and I was like a kid with a new toy, riding the new sleek tramcars, now relaxing in Essaouira in the hot sun, the place is mobbed by French day tripper tourists, keep tripping over them everywhere, but there is one escape route, consulting my watch reveals its time for the notorious Bar Hafra Friday night action, last night the formidable gorilla bouncer grabbed and flung one drunken pest out into the alleyway, most satisfying entertainment, this is one place the posh French tourists fear to tread, but to Benny its like second home hahaha, more exciting reports to follow.............struggling with this daft internet club arabic/french keyboard ..........;phew.......Benny.

    was thinking more along professional hospital work...with Gib being British and all my UK registration is valid in that nice little spot between Spain and Morocco!...actually you've just given me ideas for something that could work even better in the near future!

  Safe travels Benny and enjoy being back in Morocco...its cold here in Tafraoute today and yesterday but seen on the news its only 17-19 in Rabat and 12 again in London!....so hope youre not somewhere feeling like youre still in Glasgow! or are you still in Glasgow? lol!

    I used to do a lot of travelling across Turkey, en route to India and back, Turkey was not one of my favourite stopovers back in the hippy days of the 70's. There were all sorts of dodgy characters around, especially in the vicinity of the famous pudding shop "Lale" near Sultanammet, so watch your purse and pockets Angiebabe, I don't think these thieving activities will have declined over the years.
    
    Out of curiosity, I recently Googled "Lale, Istanbul" and apparently it's still ongoing, so if you pop in for sandwich and a beer, you might find Benny's ghost lurking around there, hahaha!!
    
    That's all for now, getting close to the" starting hour" at my favourite tapas bar here, Cristobal, a friendly place to pass the evening, sadly the present poverty in Spain is all too apparent here, local people bring their food to the bar to have it cooked in the tapas kitchen, returning later to take it away, I suspect many Spanish can't pay the gas and electricity bill, and have to improvise, to provide a hot meal for their families, sad times indeed...............

    yes reminds me was going to make a comment a way back when read of your travels through Afghanistan etc...all those interesting and beautiful places before they pretty much shut their doors!
    I will see what I can find out about how Lale is these days then thanks Benny - was in Turkey with a group of 110 about 14 years ago and always wanted to get back to Istanbul to see more and get about the city independently
