MALI

Tireli, Pays du Dogon (Bandiagara Escarpement)
Mali, the landlocked country in the heart of west africa, offers probably some of the most scenics spots in this region. And yo`'ll find there unbelievible friendly people... ;-) !!!

The main touristic attractions might be the "pays du dogon", along the Bandiagara esacrpement. Another "must see" is Djenne with its famous mud built mosque, as well as Tombouctou, the once mysterious town at the edge of the Sahara desert.

More information and pictures of my Mali ttrip can be found on my personal Mali page.
Sunset on the Niger river
The niger rivers glows trough Mali, comming from Guinea and going to the country Niger. More or less along this river, there are all the abouve mentionet touristic spots of Mali.
A great experience is for sure to take a ride on a Piroge or Pinasse, the small local boats carrying cargo or passengers. We did it to reach the port of Tpombouctou, comming from Mopti. A great experience!
The pays du Dogon is soituated south east of Mopti. It is an area inhibited by the Dogon people. Over all along the Bandiagara esacrpement, they have built pittoresque villages.
It is quite common to arrange trekkings in this region. You can go by local transport to Bandiagara, Sangha or other villages nearby and hire there a guide for as many days as you want.

If you want come visit mx external Mali page or the one of the Dogon country
Songo, Pays du Dogon
