Welcome to my home page. I am a communicator by profession and equally have a wealth of experience in the area of tourism development and promotion in Cameroon. I've served as the Communication and Marketing officer of the Cameroon Tourism Information Corporation, and presently the Executive Director of the Organization for Community Tourism and Nature Protection -Cameroon.I'm also the Communication Officer of the Mankon Royal Palace, one of the largest and prominent traditional palaces in Cameroon.Further, I am the Secretary General of the Mankon Museum and Tourism Board. I've a considerable number of professional realizations in the area of tourism and cultural promotion, and have equally done a good number of consultancy services with the North West Regional Delegation of Tourism. I've traveled widely in Cameroon so 'll readily assist all those traveling to this lovely country upon request. In terms of countries visited, I've visited several states of the United States of America and some African countries including Tanzania and Kenya. A good number of outings are envisaged in not too distant future.I am interested in traveling, sharing and exchanging views against the backdrop of my rich cultural and professional background.
Mankon, my lovely village is a prominent First Class kingdom strategically located at the heart of Bamenda City Council in Mezam Division, North West Region of Cameroon.
Mankon Kingdom is situated about 1000 metres above sea level with an estimated surface area of 315 square kilometers and a population of about 300.000 inhabitants.
The fondom is endow with tremendous tourism potentials and has rightly been described as a microcosm of Grassfield culture. The Mankon Palace is indeed the epicenter of all expressions of the art and culture of the people. It has gained fame through the hosting of grandiose cultural events as well as fascinating traditional performances and festivals like the famous Abeug-afo now transformed to the all embracing biennial Mankon Grand Cultural Festival ( MBOUMALA ). The palace also hosts a unique and venerated age-old traditional architecture, ATSUM, a large sacred palace temple and the monumental Mankon Museum (see website: www. museumcam.org)
Adjacent the palace is the Mankon Sacred Forest, the largest and well conserved sacred forest in the region with over 100 identified interesting bird species. It is a seductive destination for ecotourism.
Also of great tourist interest is the Alankie Hentage Site, the old palatial capital of Mankon with amazing tombs and shrines of 7 Fos (kings) and a palatial rest house.
All these blend with the beautiful landscape embellished by enticing vegetation to make Mankon a veritable tourist destination. The above is complemented with imposing and superb hotels in Mankon Town, restaurants, snacks, numerous transport agencies, good communication network, health facilities and above all, a generally friendly, hospitable and law- abiding population. The Mankon Palace Recreational Park and ecolodge upon completion shall go a long way in making the Makon Palace a real tourist marvel.
EXCURSION IN MANKON
Mankon Town is a junction town, as such, the starting and arrival points of most tours in the North West Region .
WHAT TO DO: ( Mankon Tour Package).
Mankon has a revealing and fascinating tour package. Every journey in Mankon tells a striking story.
Visit the Mankon Commercial Avenue where you can carry out money exchange and transfer, shopping, savor local and foreign delicacies, good wine, beer or soft drinks. Visit the PRESCRAFT shop and the artisan centre at Azire Food Market for souvenirs and your colorful traditional regalia. If you have a passion for holy grounds, then visit the Big Mankon Metropolitan Cathedral or the Presbyterian Church Centre Ntamulung. For those with a keen eye on cultural tourism, move further into the heart of the fondom to the picturesque Mankon Palace situated 12 km from the Mankon Commercial Avenue. Here, visit some of the stunning ritual and historic sites, the amazing Atsum Sacred Temple, the monumental Mankon Museum, the splendid Mankon Sacred Forest for ecotourism and participate in some of the most thrilling and colorful traditional dances of the palace. After, have an interesting and revealing chat with one of the most enlightened and venerated traditional ruler in the country, the Fo (king) of Mankon while sipping fresh raffia wine.
Hike to the Nta-Tabien the tallest hill in Mankon for an impressive and panoramic view of the beautiful Mankon landscapes. From here, cruise to the Alankie Heritage Site located 13 km from the palace and communion with nature and the gods.
Arts, Heritage and Culture from the Mankon Kingdom.
The Mankon Museum presents cultural and artistic production of the Kingdom of Mankon of Grassland Cameroon. This production, which represents an essential part of the cultural and artistic heritage of Mankon, plays a fundamental role in the cultural continuity of the society. Objects are pregnant with « meaning » but also identified characteristic forms, all bearers of memory in the treasures of the kings, notables and secret societies. The pieces are extraordinarily rich, both in their quality, the diversity of the domains they approach and by the variety of their decorative motifs, styles and themes.
MANKON GRAND CULTURAL FESTIVAL ( MBOUMALA)
MBOUNALA is a biennial cultural and economic jamboree organized at the Mankon Palace with the objective of show-casing the rich history, culture, economic and tourism potentials of Mankon fondom to the world. It is equally geared towards cultural revival.
Highlights of this 7- day event include cultural animations and displays, ritual performances, exhibition and sales of arts and craft works, gastronomy, industrial and commercial products, publications and audiovisual realizations, agro pastoral show, tours and excursions, fashion parades, sporting competitions and lots more. The event is usually slated in December with over 50.000 people in attendance.

NATURE PROTECTION (OCOTONAP)
OCOTONAP is a registered community-based organization with head office in Bamenda Cameroon. The organization exists to alleviate poverty and enhance development within impoverished and marginalized communities in Cameroon through the promotion of community tourism, integrated sustainable rural development and biodiversity conservation. In area of tourism, we are working towards promoting responsible tourism in the North West Region in particular and Cameroon as a whole. The organization is dedicated to bringing positive change to the lives of locals and creating genuine experiences for tourists by involving and empowering local people in community tourism planning , development, promotion and marketing, cultural revival and environmental conservation.
We design and implement tourism business and marketing plans for local communities, municipal councils and institutions. We equally specialize in the organization and management of excursions and cultural festivals, production of tourism brochures and travelers’ guides.
