Though promoted as the sport fishing capital of the world, Islamorada offers much more to the visitor to the Florida Keys. While Key West has rushed blindly in it's commercial over-development, Islamorada maintains the sleepy town feel that epitomizes what the Keys experience is all about. Though on first look it appears no more than a series of motels and strip malls, there is a local flair to the shops and a few gems for dining as well as recreation. This hodgepodge effect only adds to its charm and whether you come to reel in the big game fish of the Atlantic Ocean or Florida Bay, enjoy the snorkeling or kayak opportunities, or sip a trademark Rum Runner at a tikki bar for the renowned sunsets, there is little doubt that you've made a great vacation choice. Enjoy the relaxed feel and trade winds of the Florida Keys in Islamorada.
