Though not as spectacular as many of the National Parks of the United States, the Everglades are nonetheless special. As the only subtropical preserve in North America, it has a gentle beauty all it’s own and is poetically referred to as a river of grass. Though flat and seemingly monotonous on first view, the sheer variety of vegetation is only surpassed by endless waterways and teeming bird life.
