Kenai Fjords & a Climb to Insignificance

by richiecdisc - last update: Sep 12, 2002

Seward is at the terminus of the road that runs from Anchorage through the Kenai Peninsula.  Scenically situated, it acts as a gateway town to the Kenai Fjords National Park. The Peninsula is a weekend getaway for the locals of Anchorage and as soon as you begin your journey south, it's immediately apparent why.  A gentle beauty unfolds before you with lush rolling hills enveloping pristine lakes. But the true spectacle is saved for last and this attributes to Seward's justified popularity.  Whether done by car or train, it's a journey you'll not soon forget and you'll find ample ways to spend both your time and money in this admitted tourist town.  Do as the
Anchorage locals do, head on down the Kenai.

I see what you mean - looks like some stunning scenery here :) And I enjoyed your rather different take on a tourist "trap" - this is the best sort of course ;)

Nothing like that 'on top of the world' feeling, especially if you have worked for it!! Beautiful pics of your moment in the sky!
