Gorenjska is perhaps the most spectacular part of the extraordinarily scenic country of Slovenia. Not only is it home to the Julian Alps that encompass Mt. Triglav, the highest peak, but also to two of the most majestic mountain lakes in Europe. Bled with its picturesque hilltop castle and church clad island is the more famous of the two but Bohinj is no less awe inspiring with its more natural rustic setting. The area is full of hiking trails that make exploration into the surrounding mountains and forests accessible for both novice and expert. But whether enjoying the lake up close from the shore, paddling a canoe, or from some lofty perch you’ve managed to climb to, the beauty of these lakes is unmistakable. The surrounding villages offer a glimpse into a simpler time while offering comfy accommodation and hearty local fare. This area certainly should be included on any Slovenian itinerary.

Oh yes, I remember, you did some hiking around the lakes Bled and Bohinj. It's a lovely area to explore, and this is where I always bring my friends from abroad :)

wow can't beat the those meals! You wouldn't like japan, Beer is the most expensive part on the meal. Imagine ordering 2...
