"A Fresh if Imperfect Pleasure: Radeberg" Radeberg by richiecdisc
Radeberg Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 17 photos
Though there is not all that much to see in Radeberg, it does offer a glimpse into how fairly prosperous towns were ravaged by the Communist takeover following WWII. It also offers a chance to tour one of the country's most successful breweries and one that managed to survive the Iron Curtain's rise and fall. Lastly, it offers one of the few opportunities to sample Radeberger's illusive Zwickelbier. This is one of those times when the most pleasant reason is also the best.

That brewery tour sounds great - free beer AND a free glass! Love the old B&W photo too. Shame about your meal though, but I've found elsewhere that sometimes a great-looking place can disappoint - maybe they think they don't have to try too hard?
A true paradise for a beer nut as you, though the food wasn't really the one to come back for :)
Great idea to take you on a "surprise" tour of Radeberg! One of Europe's outstanding young stage directors, Vera Nemirova, used a parody of a Radeberg beer advertisement to pep up the second act of Wagner's Tannhäuser in her Frankfurt production.
there is more to life then beer right? like erm... wine? ;-P
Aren't you a lucky chap with your father-on-law and his love for the same golden yellow liquid? Oh and now I know what Zwickel is (really: didn't know properly before). Only sad that the eatery was that bad. Indeed a shame!
Looks good that brewery.
Maybe it was not like you envisioned but at least you finally made it :)
