I have had the great fortune of visiting Cambridge four times over the last four years as I have a good friend there I met camping in Australia. Like London, it is an expensive city, but again free accomadation makes it bearable. Unlike London, it is primarily a quiet town that just happens to be host to one of the finest universities in the world. I also found it a lot more friendly especially in the pubs where locals often approached me for conversation. Amazing architecture abounds and the gently beautiful setting remains unspoiled. Cambridge is an enchanting place.

The Off the Beaten Path pubs sound very tempting :-)
I was surprised at how small Cambridge actually was! The King's College area really is something else - even if it is hard to capture on film! Missed your pubs - shold have read your Page first I guess!
