"ASIA: The Continent of Wonder" Asia by richiecdisc

Asia Travel Guide: 302,692 reviews and 656,836 photos

I would like to preface this Asia overview by setting the record straight. I think some have gotten the idea that I do not like Asia and particularly Singapore. That is so far from the truth and a close read of any of my Asian pages will show this. I think what is hard for some to understand is that your first time there, it is a hard thing to adjust to. There is so much that is different from the western world that it’s almost overwhelming and this can make the traveler apprehensive at first and later tired, from the constant need to adjust. But after you accept things as they are rather than try and fit things into your expectations, Asia becomes a big playground with so much to see, do, smell, and taste. And great value too. In fact, I’d say that Asia as a continent is perhaps the best travel destination in the world for the money. With an amazing variety of cultures, fascinating cities, delectable cuisines and incredible natural beauty, Asia has it all. And I love it.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Too much to see and do
  • Cons:Too many people
  • In a nutshell:Everything you've ever dreamed of all wrapped up in one

This is a nice 'whirlwind' tour of your views on a ton of places that you visited there in the 'old' days!! To have been that close to Everest is amazing - and hard work too! But Richie, I can't believe that even the Taj Mahal left you speechless!
