As soon as you walk into the lobby area and see the sun from the skylight shedding natural light on a bust of David and the Venus de Milo, you know you have a special kind of place. Add to this, lots of green vines sprawling towards the floor and some beat up old furniture and you know it's one of those great budget places that make you happy you are still too poor to pre-reserve a room from home.
Unique Qualities: This is a multi-floor place with high ceilings and various size rooms, some with six single beds rented hostel-fashion. The restaurant on one of the upper floors is always full of travelers trading tails. If there is one problem with the place, it's that the doubles are all on the top floors and it tends to be noisy until 11 or so.
