    • Neuschwanstein is perhaps the single most visited attraction in Germany and that alone should keep you from going. Disney is probably responsible as he stole the image for his fairy tale castle. But it's over crowded and the tour is expensive and poorly done.

    At Least Do This: If you have to go, just enjoy the castle from one of the trails that circle it. The interior is disappointing and it is the setting that makes it special.
    Alternative: There are plenty of other castles in Bavaria, so give them your money and perhaps this most famous one will have to try harder in the future to wrestle your tourist dollars (er, Euros).

     I found this castle stunning inside! There arent many castles that have an indoor cave built into them. It is a shame it was never finished. The bedroom with the lights in the ceiling is fantastic also!
