Nightlife Spot: Brauerei Spezial.
Another great local brewpub with long wooden tables and loud upbeat clientele. The smoked beers here are a bit more restrained and they also have a nice everyday lager that is not smoked.

Nightlife Spot: Brauerei Greifenklau
I had never been in this part of own before as it is a bit out of the way for the casual tourist and with all my previous trips being relegated to winter, I did not want to spend an inordinate amount of time outside in the cold. But the summer beer garden season was in full swing on my last visit so I finally got up here on “the hill.” It is one of the cooler parts of town and when it’s warm, locals flock here. It just so happens that this small brewery is located in this same area. We were surprised to find a street festival going on that same night and it was actually hard to find the place. The whole area was jumping, Even inside the brewery, people were dancing on the tables to a Bavarian band. We just had one of their tasty house beers and though I would have loved to have another, maybe even join them on the table, D was tired from a full day of Bamberg beer hunting. Sometimes, it is time to go home.

seoulgirl Thu May 17, 2007 11:28 UTC We're going to Bamberg tomorrow. Thinking of staying across from Fassla at Spezial Brewery. It's cheaper. Good location? | christine.j Sun Dec 17, 2006 11:29 UTC A very interesting and informative page about a beautiful town. | Bwana_Brown Fri Jan 27, 2006 01:14 UTC This looks like an amazing destination based on location and architecture alone, esp. the Ales Rathaus on the bridge! I like the sound of those smoky beers too. Great restaurant tips & tho I've heard of BYOB, never Bring Your Own Sausage! | pigletsmom Sat Jan 29, 2005 06:12 UTC Wonderful photographs and a very complete page. Nice job. I need to visit Bamberg some day. |
