Staying on top of a brewpub has its merits and faults. It’s great to be able to pop down to the pub for a brew while you better half is washing her hair or watching television. You can also bring a beer back up to your room and maybe bring a glass home as a souvenir. The drawback to this place though is you have to walk through a rather blue class men’s drinking area to get to your room. It is rather smoky and attractive females certainly get their stares. But for 50 Euros a double/ 30 Euros a single, it is tough to beat.
Unique Qualities: This is probably the most local of all the brewpubs in Bamberg and a cheap place to eat as well. Though renovated in the 1980's, the pub retains an old world feel and the rooms above the pub are modern, clean, and great value. The breakfast is ample and good quality too. It is also very centrally located, about halfway between the heart of the old town and the train station. Another big plus is a free off-street parking area.
