Many people are a bit wary of coming to Rwanda, but it is actually a safe place to be. I have worked here as a teacher with VSO for the last 17 months, and find it a wonderful country.
The scenery is beautiful, the Lakes are great for swimming, the people are friendly, although they are not used to seeing white folk, and it does help if you speak some French (Which I don't). There's a rainforest, volcanoes, Gorillas etc etc.
Don't be put off by bad press reports and past history, come and check out this place before it gets too developed and touristy. |
