a day in Nuenen

by margaretvn - last update: Apr 30, 2005

Vincent van Gogh lived and worked for two years in Nuenen. This was the home of his parents and his father let him live in the little "shed" at the back of the house - you can just see it in the photo.
The De Groot family used to live in this house and Vincent van Gogh went there often. The first sketches for the "Potato-eaters" were made there. The house has been changed a lot since the war.
De Roosdonck
This windmill "De Roosdonck" was built in 1884 and it can be found in 7 of van Gogh's drawings.
